Welcome to the
O'Flaherty Irish Music Retreat!

We are already busy at work planning the 2008 O'Flaherty Irish Music Retreat, and it's looking like it's going to be another great time at Camp Hoblitzelle. Here are some details:

Date and Location
October 24-26, 2008 at Hoblitzelle Camp and Conference Center in Midlothian, Texas (30 minutes south of Dallas).

Guest Instructors
We are pleased to announce our guest instructors for 2008! Matt Cranitch andMickey Dunne are returning. Matt will teach advanced fiddle this time around while Mickey will continue his superb teaching of the Uilleann pipes. New to our retreat will be Mick Moloney, James Kelly, Pat Egan, June McCormack and Danny O'Flaherty. Mick is probably the most recognized tenor banjo player in the world and a noted scholar of Irish music. James Kelly is one of the great fiddlers of our time and is a teaching veteran that is always in demand. Pat Egan is a highly-regarded guitarist and singer that will certainly please our pickers and singers alike. June McCormack is considered one of Ireland's leading ladies on flute. And Danny O'Flaherty (no relation to Jim O'Flaherty that we know) is one of Ireland's best troubadors. In addition to teaching their core classes, our guest instructors will also teach a variety of enrichment classes that will help students better understand the history and distinctiveness of Irish music. And of course, we have many other wonderful instructors who are rich in their experience in teaching Irish music ontheir instruments. All in all,an exciting group of teachers for 2008!
